Session 3 – Title: Creating and Organizing an Electronic Science Notebook

• Content Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn the importance of organizing an electronic science notebook.
• Technology Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how to create folders and subfolders to organize documents into an electronic science notebook based on the Grade 7 Science Scope and Sequence.

Session 4 – Title: Using Excel and Microsoft Word

• Content Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how to collect, analyze, and display scientific data using a spreadsheet. They will also learn the benefits of using a template to structure data collection and analysis.
• Technology Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how to create a template in Excel to collect data, as well as how to utilize Excel and Word.

Session 5 – Title: Finding Quality Web Sites to Support Student Research and Citing Them Using Citation Machine

• Content Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how to structure Internet research to facilitate inquiry-based student learning while ensuring that students learn core content, and how to determine what types of Web sites best support 7th grade student research and find those sites.
• Technology Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how Citation Machine can be used to help students cite sources easily and accurately.

Session 6 – Title: Interactive Resources to Support the Understanding of the Human Body

• Content Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn how to use interactive resources as a structured activity to understand the human body.
• Technology Teaching Points: During this session, participants will learn what an interactive resource is, and the benefits of using interactive resources either as opposed to textbooks or as supplemental activities.
